How long will it take to complete an application?

We find that most people taking the steps necessary to complete the online application takes them approximately 30 minutes to complete. So if you’re short on time, this is the best way for you to apply. You can automatically submit your completed application to DCF once you have completed it using the electronic signature option.

What types of Help does DCF Offer?

The Department of Children and Families’ Economic Self-Reliance Program offers several programs to help families in Florida. These include food assistance, temporary financial assistance, Medicaid, and refugee assistance. You can apply to any (or all) of these programs simultaneously by using the same application. However, each program has its own admissions requirements.

Which foods can be purchased with Florida food stamps?

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) administers the Food Stamp/SNAP program; below is a list of items that can be purchased with an EBT card.

What you can buy with the EBT card:

  • Foods for consumption that can be found in the house
  • Cereals and bread are the most important foods to eat;
  • A wide variety of fruits and vegetables;
  • Basically, all meats, fishes, and poultry
